Original 1992 Disneyland Paris Fun Map In Hyper Resolution !

I've got a great "one more thing" for you tonight! You probably know the original Disneyland Paris fun map, released in 1992 at park opening and hard to find now. Well, i've got good news for you as i've found on the web a perfect scan 10000px large (!) of this DLP fun map, simply by doing a Google Images search with "Disneyland Paris fun map" as keywords. Jump HERE to download it.

Now, interestingly the map was showing some "future attractions" which were not yet built at that time, back in 1992. In Discoveryland what was still named "Discovery Mountain" is there - but not the Nautilus outside as it was supposed to be inside Discovery Mountain. You can also see the transparent tubes linking Discovery mountain to Videopolis as well as a "future restaurant" which would have been located in front of the Constellations shop, at the entrance of Discoveryland.

In Fantasyland the two "future attractions" were "one themed on "Beauty and the Beast" and the other on "The Little Mermaid"...

But a closer look at the high-res scan of the original DLP fun map also reveal that in DLP Adventureland was already envisioned as "future attraction" something looking very much like two Indiana Jones attractions. Not only you can see a perfect "Indy" Asian temple but also a coaster with mine carts AND also some troop vehicles like the ones in Indiana Jones Adventure! Click on the pictures to see all this clearly!

Universal Hollywood Halloween Horror Night The Shining Haunted Maze Video

Universal Hollywood did for their 2017 Halloween season a fantastic haunted maze based on Stanley Kubrick's horror classic film "The Shining". Halloween Horror Night guests experience all the iconic scenes and characters that have made the film a masterpiece of modern horror.

I remind you the synopsis of The Shining and below, an excellent video filmed by Sharp Productions.

Welcome to The Overlook Hotel, a sprawling yet isolated century old hotel with a tragic history of murder and madness. Jack Torrance, a man with a troubled past, has agreed to be the caretaker for The Overlook Hotel during the harsh Colorado winter and has moved his family into the shuttered hotel. But as soon as the Torrance family takes up residence in the hotel, Jack begins to undergo a startling change...a descent into madness that will put his family in grave danger.

Unbeknownst to Jack, his young son, Danny, is imbued with a dark gift - the ability to see events and people, both past and future, that others can't see. A gift called "The Shining." Danny's nightmarish visions will help to unlock the mysteries of the haunted hotel and allow the horrifying, true nature of The Overlook to reveal itself.

D&M Survey : Do You Wish That DLP Walt Disney Studios Tower of Terror Will Be Transformed in a Guardians of Galaxy ride?

I've added on Disney and more today a new survey, and an important one as the question for this one is : do you wish that the Walt Disney Studios Tower of Terror will be transformed in a Guardians of Galaxy ride, similar to the one at DCA? Apparently the final choice has not been done yet in the big WDS Placemaking, so it is now or never to let DLP know what is your favorite choice!

Go ahead, place your answer NOW, the survey is on the top of the right column AND you can add your comments below! ( but definitely VOTE  to tell your choice )

You can ALSO write a comment on the similar post on the Disney and More Facebook page HERE.

What Would You Expect of an Indiana Jones Adventure Ride at Disneyland Paris Adventureland ?

Here is an important post about one of Disney’s most beloved ride, Indiana Jones Adventure.

As we know the ride has been envisioned for Disneyland Paris Adventureland since years - and the land to build it was always kept - and i’d like to know “what would you expect of an Indiana Jones Adventure ride at Disneyland Paris Adventureland?”.

I’m not asking you if you would like to have IJA coming at DLP because obviously the answer is "yes!" ( and so far the ride has been chosen at 87% in D&M surveys as the ride you would like to see coming to DLP ) but what kind of Indiana Jones Adventure ride would you like?

- Exactly the same ride than the beloved original one at Disneyland?

- Or would you like the same ride but with changes of some scenes?

- If yes, in which scenes would you like to see changes?

- Also, would you like the same kind of ride vehicles ( the jeep mounted on a simulation platform ), or different track vehicles?

- And what about a totally new kind of Indiana Jones ride with less “real decors” but projection effects like in Universal Spiderman or Transformers ride?

- Or another kind of Indiana Jones ride going both indoor AND outdoor?

- Last but not least, the queue decor of Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland is awesome as we know and a big part of the thrill because the queue seems to never end ( mostly because they needed to bring the guests up to the show building on Disneyland parking lot ) but would you definitely want the queue decor to be as long, let’s say, than in the DisneySea version,  or eventually it won’t be a problem if it was shorter?

- Any others ideas not listed here are welcome in your comments!

Editing: Some of the comments posted here, or on the D&M Facebook page, reminded me the amazing artwork of Imagineer Bryan Jowers done for Disneyland Indiana Jones Adventure ride - the artwork below - showing the incredible scene of two Indy rides ( the jeeps of IJA and the trains from the Temple du Péril, with the Jungle Cruise boats passing in the background as well as the DL railroad. The scene on the artwork is obviously huge and just like this would cost a fortune but IF it could be done at DLP for a more reasonable cost and a smaller size though keeping the DLP Railroad and Jungle Cruise boats passing by ( yes, i know, this would mean to also build a Jungle Cruise ride ), would you like to have this at DLP?

Thanks by advance for your answers and please say exactly what you have in mind!

Depending of the survey, as indicated, you're asked to choose either one, two, or three choices. And results can be seen instantly.

There is six different surveys / questions to answer which are:

- Choose your favorite RIDE you wish to be build at Disneyland Paris park ( ONE answer only among the choices )

The survey don't request any name, email address, etc, so it's totally anonymous. So, look on the right bar where surveys are, and make sure to think well before you answer, as you can choose only one time!

Note: These surveys widgets may not appear on a mobile device so you need to answer them from your computer.

The "Nightmare Before Christmas" Attraction That Never Was

As the Halloween season has started in Disney Parks i repost this D&M article posted ten years ago, and all of you who are fans of the "Nightmare Before Christmas" movie are going to love this unrealized attraction concept by Christopher Merritt.

Christopher is a theme park designer who worked previously as an Imagineer at Walt Disney Imagineering. This "Nightmare Before Christmas" attraction concept  was not done during his time at WDI but was part of his student portfolio back in 1996. Not only we can see how a great attraction it would have been if it had been built, but the coffin ride vehicle concept would have been a lot of fun too.

Editing: I just learned that Chris is back at WDI and apparently worked on Shanghaî Disneyland! Sincere apologies to Christopher Merritt, i didn't knew that he was back at Imagineering.

One of the detailed illustrations shows the design of the whole interior show, done in the traditional "fun map" style.
